Caeli is a series of seven large-scale paintings born from the instinctive process of breathing, movement, and emotional truth. The series reflects my recent move to the rural heart of Portugal, high in the Serra da Estrela mountains, where the air is pure, the land untouched, and the sky feels as if it could be touched. Living at 1900 meters above sea level, surrounded by vast nature, I was drawn back to a deeper connection with the earth — to breathe, to feel, and to exist fully within the natural world.

This collection emerges from that immersion in the landscape, where the presence of mountains, the clarity of the sky, and the rhythm of nature itself became the pulse of my creative process. Through layers of blue and green, I’ve sought to capture not just the scenery, but the feeling of being immersed in it — the stillness, the flow, the raw energy of nature in its most primal state.

In these paintings, there are no fixed interpretations, only emotional spaces that unfold through movement and gesture. Faces and eyes appear not through design, but through chance — like memories rising to the surface, as if carried by the winds of the mountains themselves. They invite the viewer to step into a space of introspection, where the viewer’s own experience can unfold in response to the energy in the painting.

Caeli is about breathing in pure nature and releasing it through color, form, and emotion. It is a collection that does not represent life but releases it — where every brushstroke is an act of instinct and presence, a reflection of my return to nature, and the peaceful, profound breath that comes with living in the mountains.
