"My Milky Way"
This painting began not with color, but with touch.
On a raw, untreated linen cloth—rugged and honest—I laid down layers of gesso and fine-grain texture paste to create a base that was intentionally strong, visible and palpable. This wasn’t just a surface to paint on—it was a landscape to be built. Peaks and valleys formed under my hands, textures emerged that could be seen and felt, even before a drop of color touched the canvas.
Over this sculpted foundation, I poured shades of violet, Prussian blue, and blue-green. These deep, celestial colors bled into the texture, sinking into the grooves and ridges like stars settling into galaxies. Once it dried completely, the final act began—drips and splashes, liberated and spontaneous, dancing across the textured terrain with energy and unpredictability.
The result? Something that felt more cosmic than earthly. As I stood back, I saw it: my own Milky Way—minha via láctea. Not a literal one, but an emotional constellation born from movement, memory, and mystery.
I invite the viewer to do more than observe—to float. Let the eyes drift across the canvas as if suspended in space. Let the textures ground you, even as the colors lift you into orbit. There is serenity here. A sense of being weightless, yet deeply connected to something vast and unknown.
This painting is about immersion. About feeling the universe not as something distant and cold, but intimate and textured—something you can almost touch. A reminder that our personal "galaxies" are not out there, but within us—shaped by our layers, our chaos, our light, our calmness.
